Lettering set for NP 24’ caboose - a Rick Leach decal set

Part Number: NP 24’ Caboose

The Northern Pacic had approximately 400, 24 foot wood cabooses. Built between 1907 and 1921, they saw service through the 1960’s. During rebuilding,
ends, widths of cupola, platform length, trucks, and other features changed as rebuilt or not, resulting in quite a variety of small diences - reference to
photographs is best.

Series 1600-1699, rebuilt in 1910 from 4-whl bobbers originally buit in 1905
Series 1700-1789, 90 cars, built by Pacic Car & Foundry, 1921
Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted NP mineral-red and originally came with a with black tar roof. Lettering all white stencil paste. In March of 1951 the

the nomad was changed to include RAILWAY. The NP employed a unique gothic style lettering design very accurately traced by Rick Leach. Herald placed
between windows on right side and directly under cupola on left side. Smoke jack galvanized, mineraL red or black. “LT WT” and shop mark on center sill. NP
with periods were shopped at NP’s South Tacoma shops (code RM) , and NP without periods shopped at NP’s Como shops in St.Paul. 3” numbers over doors
