lettering for Great Northern’s 1960 slanted letters repaint scheme

Late 1950’s lettering scheme featuring the road name on the right side in large slant serif lettering and a smaller 42” herald on the left side.

Between 1956 and 1969, the GN began a repainting program for thousands of cars in much brighter colors, - a vermilion red with mineral red trucks, slanted 15”/10“ serif-ed lettering design with a 36” black and white herald.
