lettering set for Pittsburg & West Virginia 1944 AAR design boxcar

In 1946 the P&WV took delivery of 100 50-ton, 40’ steel sheathed box cars from AC&F. Road numbers assigned were1200-1299. In 1948, an additional 100 cars were delivered from Pullman-Standard, and assigned road numbers 1300-1399. Cars were delivered in box car red with white lettering. In 1951, the cars received a new all-black paint scheme and the slogan “Symbol of Service” was added.
