The Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad had 3,500 of the Howe design truss-side cars in the 1920’s. This decal set is concerned with the last 1,500 cars built by
AC&F in late 1925 and early 1926.
Series 95000-96499, 1,500 cars, American Car & Foundry, delivered 1925/6.
Paint & Lettering: They were initially painted box car red with white lettering (decal sheet MKT-3a). Later they were painted Sloan yellow (see Benjamin Moore
“Yellow Merigold”), or TCP-108, with black lettering Underbody and truck side frames painted with black car cerment.
