Built between 1931 and 1932 in N.P.’s Brainerd, Montana shops, the road received 500 cars in the 14500-14999 series with a 40-ton capacity, and in 1932, 500
cars in the 20000-20499 series with trucks for a 50-ton capacity. Otherwise the cars were identical.
Paint & Lettering: Car painted NP freight car brown: TCP-193. (from paint chips for Dupont Dulux Brown, and Pillsbury Car Hide Brown). Post 1942 cars would
be repainted with the later standard boxcar lettering scheme. Lettering all white stencil paste.
