Lettering for IHB's 1937 AAR boxcars as delivered in Lot 729-B

In March of 1944, the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, an affiliate of the NYC, took delivery of 600 1937 AAR 10’-0” IH box cars built in NYC’s Dispatch Shops, Lot 729-B. Road numbers assigned were 10000-10599. The medallion has the see-through non-black background and is lettered with the curved H and R. Note that the medallion is not centered in the panal but placed closer to the ladder. Lettering and artwork by Ted Culotta
