Lettering for 1956 yellow Lettering scheme for Modified 1937 AAR (10'-6"IH) boxcars

The Western Pacific took delivery of 350 Modified 1937 AAR box cars in January, 1945. Built by Mt. Vernon Car Co in Lot #9722, the cars were assigned road numbers 20201-20550. Car body painted red-brown (1 part Floquil #74 + 1 part Floquil #186) all lettering and slogans in Armour yellow. Underbody and truck side frames painted with black car cement. Wheels were unpainted and allowed to rust and gather a coating of axle grease. Lettering designed and created at Protocraft Decals
