Lettering for Modified 1937 AAR 10'-6"IH boxcars -1953 Lettering scheme

The NJI&I took delivery of 50 Modified 1937 AAR box cars in March of 1944. Built in Wabash shops as series 4100-4149. These cars had the distinctive straight sill tabs between bolsters. Cars were painted in Wabash red-oxide (1 part Floquil #175 and 1 part Floquil #186) Underbody and truck side frames painted black car cement. Wheels were unpainted and allowed to rust and gather a coating of axle grease. Lettering designed and created at Protocraft Decals
