Lettering for Modified 1937 AAR design 10'-6" IH steel boxcar - 1950's scheme

Between February 1940 and February 1945, the RI took delivery of 4,050 Modified 1937 AAR design box cars from Pressed Steel Corp, Series 14500-149049. (An additional 50 cars were delivered in 1941 with Allied Express trucks for passenger service and assigned as Series 20000-20049). Cars were painted a red-brown (1 part Floquil #74 an 1 part Floquil #186) Underbody and truck side frames coated with black car cement. Wheel unpainted and allowed to gather road grime an axle grease. Lettering designed and created at Protocraft Decals.
