![]() Between February 1940 and February 1945, the RI took delivery of 4,050 Modified 1937 AAR design box cars from Pressed Steel Corp, Lot 4560-F, Series 14500-149049. (An additional 50 cars were delivered in 1941 with Allied Express trucks for passenger service, Series 20000-20049) See over for the as-delivered lettering scheme. Cars were painted a red-brown (1 part Floquil #74 an 1 part Floquil #186) Underbody and truck side frames coated with black car cement. Wheel unpainted and allowed to gather road grime an axle grease. Lettering designed and created at Protocraft Decals. ![]() ![]() Background color shown above is not included in decal sheet |
