Lettering for 1919 USRA and 1931 Howe Truss design boxcars

The D&H received 500 boxcars in 1919, using the USRA design with an inside height of 9’-1”, from the Bettendorf Company under contract to the US Government under the Oce of Price Control. They were assigned Series numbers 17001-17500. They were rebuilt in 1934-36 in D&H’s Obneonta shops, but retained the same series numbers and build date of 1919. Some of these cars lasted in revenue service into the middle 1960’s. Lettering set designed and created at Protocraft Decals
