![]() Between July of 1940 and October of 1941, MSt.P&SSM took delivery of 900 Modi.ed 1937 AAR design 10’-5” inside height boxcars. All built by Pullman-Standard. Deliveries and Series assignements as follows:
Series 42800 - 43598, 400 cars, Pullman-Standard, Lot 5631, delivered July 1940 - even numbers only Paint & Lettering: cars painted SOO’s Oxide Red: TCP-925. The black background parallelagram medallion was used throughout the system until late 1942, at which time the ‘see-through“ white only parallelagram was adopted. In 1951 the parallelagram was replaced by the 48” high block “SOO LINE” lettering. (see decal sheet SOO MOD-2) Lettering and art work by Ken Soroos Footnote: The original Wisconsin Central (1893-1909) was leased by the MSt.P&SSM in 1909. The word ‘Sault” of Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste.
