![]()
In November 1944 the G.N. experimented with an all-aluminum boxcar, building a one-o prototype in G.N. shops as Series 2500-2500.
The Youngstown Steel Door Company supplied an all-alumimum door. For one reason or another, the experiment did not lead to additonal
aluminum cars.
Paint & Lettering: The model would be painted all aluminum to replicate an aluminum car, with ladder rungs, grab irons, truck sideframes and
underframe coated with black car cement. Lettering and monogram all black stencil paste. (An excellent source of material on these cars can be found in the Hawkins/Wider RP CYC series, Vol 23) (An accurate brass model of this car is Protocraft #3503. Available mid-2015)
