![]()
In April 1941, the Tennessee Central received 100 1937 AAR design boxcars:
Series 7900-7999, 100 cars, Pullman-Standard Car Company, Lot 5655, delivered April 1941.
Cars were painted a red-oxide: TCP-238, or Protocraft TCP-925*, with underbody and truck side frames painted with black car cement.
(wheels left unpainted and allowed to gather road grime and grease). ` Lettering was designed and created at Protocraft Decals
These cars were unique in that they came with Pullman riveted flat panel roofs, and Pullman’s 4/5 Corregated ends. In late 1958, 65 cars
were reconditioned and the wood running boards replaced with Apex Tri-Lok running boards, repainted and renumbered into Series
500-564.
By changing the running boards, an accurate model of this this car can be made from Protocraft model #3510
* TCP-901-929 are Protocraft Decals propietory colors mixed by TCP under the direction of Ed Hawkins and available at Protocraft
