In May 1937 and April 1941, the ITC received 300 boxcars of the new 1937 AAR design. In chonological order, delivery and builder schedule
shown below:
Series 6000-6099, 100 cars, American Car & Foundry, Lot 1647, delivered May 1937 - sq crn 4/5 DN ends
Series 6100-6299, 200 cars, Pullman-Standard, Lot 2185, delivered April 1941 - round (W) crn 4/4 ACF ends
Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted medium red-brown: TCP-221, underbody and truck side frames painted black car cement. Wheels were
unpainted and allowed to rust and gather a coating of axle grease and road grime. Lettering white stencil paste.
