In May of 1946, The SP&S took delivery of 500 1944 AAR design boxcars with an inside height of 10’-6” as follows:

 

Series 11000-11249, 250 cars, Pullman-Standard under Lot 5826, delivered May 1946 - equiped with 7-Panel Superior doors

Series 11250-11499, 250 cars, Pullman-Standard under Lot 5826, delivered May 1946 - equiped with Youngstown doors

 

Paint & Lettering: Cars painted freight car brown: TCP-249. Lettering all white stencil paste
