Lettering for NKP's 1944 War Emergency boxcars

Pullman-Standard’s Michigan City, Indiana shops delivered 200 War Emergency boxcars to the Nickel Plate in April of 1944. They were assigned road numbers 8000-8199. The as-delivered paint scheme had ends, roof, underbody and truck side frames painted with black car cement; sides painted a red-brown (Floquil #179); wheels were unpainted and allowed to gather road grime and a light coating of rust. A urethane resin kit for this model was produced by Ultrascale Models, Kit #603. This lettering sheet designed and sized at Protocraft Decals with artwork by Norm Buckhart.

This sheet is designed to letter one car with the choice of road numbers 8004 and 8026 prearranged to match the accompanying photos.
