Between 1949 and 1952 the Canadian Pacific ordered 1,200 10’-6” IH boxcars from Pullman-Standard of the PS-1 design for their cross-border International of Maine Division as follows:
Series 268800-269099, 300 cars, Pullman-Standard Car Co. Lot 8036C, delivered July 1952 - 6’ 5 Panel Superior doors
Series 269100-269599, 500 cars, Pullman-Standard Car Co. Lot 8087, delivered December 1952 - 6’ Youngstown doors
Series 269600-269999, 400 cars, Pullman-Standard Car Co. Lot 5950, delivered July 1949 - 6’ Youngstown doors
In 1962, the CP began applying the Canadian Pacific script lettering scheme during repaints to these cars and others at that time period. The block lettering and one inch lines above and below the reporting marks on the left side were dropped.
