The Northern Pacific received 2,000 Modified 1937 AAR design boxcars between December 1941 and April 1942. AF&C delivered 1,350 cars in Lot #2339 and were assigned road numbers 26000-27349. In January 1942 the NP shops in Laural built 150 cars and assigned road numbers 27350-27499. In April 1942, Pullman-Standard delivered 500 cars in Lot #5698 with road numbers 27500-27999. This lettering sheet depicts the 1957 repaint scheme with the 60” medallion and Main Street slogan. (for the as delivered lettering scheme, see Protocraft Decal # NP MOD-1) Cars were painted red-brown (1 part Floquil #74 and 1 part Flouquil #186). Underbody and truck side frames painted black car cement. Wheels were unpainted and allowed to rust and gather a coating of axle grease.
