The Seaboard received 1937 AAR design boxcars from
Series 19500-19699, 200 cars, Pullman-Standard’s Bessemer, Alabama shops, Lot 5768, in September, 1944 - Class B-8
Series 19700-19949, 250 cars, Pullman-Standard’s Bessemer, Alabama shops, Lot 5804, delivered September 1945, Class B-9
Series 19950-19999, 50 cars, Pullman-Standard’s Bessemer, Alabama shops, Lot 5806, delivered October, 1945, Class B-9
Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted with Dupont SAL standard freight car color: TCP-923. Be sure and mixing a few drops of TCP-179 grey
to replicate normal oxidation.
All had the large 56” monogram with the red heart and Route of Courteous Service on both sides. In 1946, the monogram was altered to
replace “RAILWAY” with “RAILROAD”.
