The Central of Georgia Railroad received 400 40’ 1937 AAR 10’-0” IH design boxcars with 6’ doors. Built by Pullman-Standard and delivered as follows:
Series 4500-4749, 250 cars, Pullman-Standard, Lot 5777 - delivered March, 1945. 7-Panel Superior 6’ doors
Series 6000-6074, 75 cars, Pullman-Standard, Lot 5677 - delivered August, 1941. Youngstown 6’ doors
Series 6075-6099, 25 cars, Pullman-Standard, Lot 5677 - delivered August, 1941. 7-Panel Superior 6’ doors
Series 6100-6149, 50 cars, Pullman-Standard, Lot 5699 - delivered March, 1942. Youngstown 6’ doors
Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted a red-brown: TCP-185, underbody and truck side frames coated with black car cement - wheels left unpainted and allowed
to gather road grime and rust. Lettering: white stencil paste.
