Approximately 68 1937 AAR boxcars were added to the roster as replacement cars lost through attrition from damage and wrecks between 1938 and 1940. Assigned random numbers within the 145550-163999 Series, the cars were built in SL-SF’s Springeld, Missouri, shops. All had Duryea underframes, but were otherwise the early standard 1937 AAR design with square corner ends. A few of the rebuilt cars from the 127000-130499 Series also found their way into SL-SF’s LCL service of which 128046, 129171 and 130159 are examples.
