Lettering for 1937 AAR boxcars - as delivered scheme

Approximately 68 1937 AAR boxcars were added to the SL-SF roster as replacement cars lost through attrition from damage and wrecks between 1938 and 1940. Assigned random numbers within the 145550-163999 Series, the cars were built in SL-SF’s shops. All had Duryea underframes, but were otherwise a standard square corner early 1937 AAR design. Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted freight car brown: TCP-922 (add oxidation to this) The FRISCO medallion with LINES lasted until 1947 when it was replaced with the simple FRISCO medallion, applied only during repainting. Decal set designed and created at Protocraft Decals.
