![]() In February and March, 1945 DSI built 1,000 1937 AAR design boxcars with a 10’-0” IH, and 3/4 IDN ends as follows:
Series 175000-175249, 250 cars, Despatch Shops Inc., Lot DSI 823, NYC Lot 737-B. Delivered February 1945 - Youngstown doors
Series 175250-175999, 750 cars, Despatch Shops Inc., Lot DSI 823, NYC Lot 737-B. Delivered February 1945 - 7-P Superior doors

Starting in 1946 and continuing through 1953, the NYC eventually converted all of Lot 737-B cars to Pacemaker Service with red and gray
sides, renumbering these cars to 174000-174999 series.
Paint & Lettering: painted Sherman-Williams ash-dri red painted over the top half grey. Doors and door tracks also red. Roof, ladders, grab
iron rungs, brake wheel, underframe and trucks were coated with black car cement. Pacemaker lettering and herald without black
background in white stencil paste. Cars were intended for home road use only and did not have dimensional data. Cars painted or repainted
after February 1951 had complete reporting marks and dimensional data in black stencil paste. (After 1960, lettering was returned to white and
the herald had a black background - not included in this decal sheet)
