Paint & Lettering: Between 1934-1942 car sides and running boards were painted Pittsburg Brown: TCP-921*. Beginning in 1946 the WLE went to a medium red-brown:TCP-923*. Both colors need to be lightened to emulate natural oxidation: use TCP-179 to lighten the shade. Ends, roof, underframe and truck sideframes coated with black car cement. (wheels left unpainted and allowed to gather rust and road grime). Lettering all white stencil paste.
(* TCP-901-929 are Protocraft Decals propietory colors mixed by TCP under the direction of Ed Hawkins and available at Protocraft)
In 1949 the road was leased to the Nickel Plate. Keeping the Series numbers, the reporting marks were repainted as NKP. In 1988 the cars went to the Norfolk & Western and were repainted in N&W reporting marks.
Model by Protocraft of Series 24200-24501 with Pullman Corrugated ends: PC-3511
