![]()
The Sacramento Northern was an electic interurban and freight line that served the highly productive agricultural basin between Oakland and Chico, California with a major terminal in Sacramento. The rst group of wood boxcars were 25 cars built for the SN by Mt. Vernon Car Co in 1918, and assigned Series 2129-2153. In 1947 the SN received 28 of the same type cars owned by the WP. These were rebuilt with Murphy indented Dreadnaught ends, and relettered and assigned as Series 2301-2328. (The SN was at this time controlled by the Western Pacic Railroad).
