Previous Return to list of all Refrigerator Car Decals in 1:48 scale Next lettering for GATC 37’-3” wood reefer leased to Cudahy Car Lines
![]()
Cudahy Packing Company in 1920 had over 2,000 leased 37’ wood refrigerator cars - either from Mather or General American Car Co. Leased
cars used the CRLX reporting marks. Cars owned by Cudahy carried the NMCX reporting marks (see Protocraft Decals NMCX-1). By 1940, the
total number was down to around 1,000 cars, and in 1942 the lease was cancelled. By the mid-1960’s the cars disappeared from the roster. Car
5557 above was part of the series rebuilt in 1949 and renumbered into the 5701-5850 and 6101-6300 Series.
