The Western Refrigerator Line with reporting marks WRL was founded in January 1923, by the Western Pacic Railroad. The WRL eventually
melded into the PFE system and the cars began to be repainted with new reporting marks for PFE as they were transfered over. (Not to be
confused with Western Refrigerator Line with reporting marks of WRX, founded in 1929 to operate a eet of 500 reefers for the Green Bay and
Western Railroad in Green Bay, Wisconsin - see Protocraft Decals WRX-1 and 2)
Paint & Lettering: Car side painted reefer yellow with mineral red ends and roof. Underframe and truck side frames coated with black car
cement.
