The Canadian Pacic had numerous refrigerator cars. This particular series, 288000-288499 of 500 cars, built June of 1928, and 288500-
288999 of 500 cars built in June of 1930. Many remained in revenue service through the 1950’s. These cars had divided-basket ice bunkers
and were equiped primarily for hanging beef. A number of them were also were equipped with charcoal heaters to keep its contents from
freezing during winter months.
Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted with Canadian Pacic’s burgandy-red sides, ends, roof and underframe including truck side frames.
Lettering all white stencil paste.
