lettering for Clinton’s 8,000 gallon tank cars

The Clinton Company of Clinton, Iowa, leased General American Tank Car Co Type 30, 8,000 gallon cars for corn syrup transportation. The leased cars were ICC Class 204, distinguished by the style of vent used. GATX 13000--15699 was one of the larger series of GATX 8,000 gallon tank cars with 1,985 listed in the 1943 Offcial Railway Equipment Register.

Paint & Lettering: tank, underframe and brake equipment were painted black. Lettering was all white stencil paste.
