lettering set for Conely Tank Line 8000 gallon tank carm

The Conley Tank Car Company was mostly an owner of repaired tank cars which it repaired in the Conley plant in Franklin, PA in the 1930s. Reporting marks were CYCX. Conley in turn leased it’s repaired tank cars to various petroleum companies, or in the case of Seaboard Midland, in Midland, Texas, leased new tankcars built by AC&F. CYCX was part of a large eet of uninsulated 8000 gallon tank cars in Series 5001-10000 built for general oil or liquid service.

 

Paint & Lettering: Car painted aluminum with a black bottom sheet and underframe and trucks. Lettering black stencil paste.
