8,000 gal tank car lettering for Mobil Oil Company

Mobil Oil had many entities within it’s umbrella of companies of which Socony Vacuum is one. Mobil had numerous AC&F Type 11 and 17 tank cars in it’s tank car fleet, of which SVX 2127 is but one example. Mobil’s tank cars were painted bright red (CMYK red) with silver lettering, black frame and truck side frames; wheels unpainted and left to gather road grime and rust. This sheet is designed to accomodate many different road numbers enabling the modeler to select the prototype car to be lettered.
