Pullman 242 6-wheel heavyweight passenger truck - ready to run

A Proto:48 scale model of Pullman’s Type 242 passenger truck, common to approximately 25% of the Pullman heavyweight fleet. This all-brass, highly detailed model of the Pullman Type 242 passenger truck in Proto:48 was made for Protocraft by OCS Casting in Korea using Pullman drawings.  Trucks are fully equalized, roll on ball bearings and has operable journal box covers, removable journal box keepers allowing wheelsets to drop out as in the prototype. Wheels are machined in steel and have full backside detail.   Side frame patterns compliments of Roger Lewis of Wasatch Models.

The 242 truck comes with the prototype bolsters made according to the Pullman drawings (shown on left).  Included are adaptor bolsters to mount this truck under the PSC heavyweight cars (shown in center and on right).
