lettering set for DMIR’s 40’-6” gondola cars - 1958 scheme

In September 1941, the DMIR received 100, 40’’-6” DMIR Class V2, all-steel, high side, with fixed ends and solid bottom, gondola cars from American Car & Foundry under Lot 2199, and assigned road numbers as Series 4100-4199.

Paint & Lettering: Class V2 gondolas were delivered painted black with white lettering - for this paint scheme, see Protocraft Decal sheet DMIR Gon-1. Beginning in 1958, ore cars, gondolas and at cars would be repainted maroon with gold lettering -
