Beginning in July 1944, the Nickel Plate received 450 70-ton gondola cars as follows:

 

* Series 66000-66049, 50 cars, Greenville Steel Corporation, O.O. 419, wood floor, DN ends w/Wine door locks, Universal lever h/b - delivered July 1944*

 

Paint & Lettering: Cars painted black with all white stencil paste lettering.
