The Southern Pacic received 6,150 General Service gondola cars built after 1940. Steel cars were built and were delivered as follows:
Series 94500 - 95199, 700 cars, Bethlehem Steel Corp, delivered Spring of 1942, with Bettendorf trucks - Class G-15
Series 95200 - 95499, 300 cars, Mt. Vernon Car Co, delivered Spring of 1944, with Barber S-2 trucks - Class G-16
Series 89854- 90403, 550 cars, Bethlehem Steel Corp, delivered Fall of 1946, with Barber S-2 trucks - Class G-18
Series 151000-152649, 1,650 cars, Bethlehem Steel Corp, delivered Fall of 1948, with A-3 Ride Control trucks - Class G-22
In 1956, all these cars were renumbered into the 360000 Series for steel cars, (and 380000 Series for composite cars.)
