In June 1944, the DT&I received 100 70-ton gondola cars from Greenville Steel Corp, under O.O. (Office Order) 414. These were assigned
road numbers as Series 9000-9099.
The cars were equiped with standard Dreadnaught Drop Ends with reverse rib pattern, wood floors, inside tie-down rings and Wine door
locks. Hand brakes were Universal Lever Brake.
Paint & Lettering: Cars painted freight car red/brown with all white stencil paste lettering.
