![]() The SP received it’s first group of 50‘ double-door, all-steel autocars from General American Transportation Corporation as Class A-50-12, as follows: Series 69530-70029, 500 cars, General American Transportation Corporation, delivered October-December 1936 By 1956, these cars had been transferred into auto parts service, and were renumbered and reclassified as XMR - renumbering is as follows: Series 69530-70029 to 206311-206808 Paint & Lettering: Cars painted with SP’s Freight Car red: TCP-211. Lettering all white stencil paste. The large 24” tall S and P with the 16“ lettering replaced the standard road name, and placed on the right side of the doors. The 45” medallion now over the reporting marks on the left side of the doors. The medallion was discontinued by 1960. Note: cars depicted on this page are of a later class but lettering placement is correct for A-50-12’s.
