![]() In November of 1936, the Cotton Belt received it’s first group of 50, 50’ double-door automobile cars, from General American Transportation Corporation. These were assigned road numbers as Series 47000-47049. Cars were identical to parent SP’s order for 825 automobile cars one month earlier. Cars were fitted with ‘Special Devices” ( Evans Auto Racks). Cars came with 4/5 Dreadnaught square-corner ends, Equipco Power hand brakes and wood running boards. Paint & Lettering: Car bodies and truck sideframes were painted SP red-brown: TCP 211. Underbody painted with black car cement. Wheels were unpainted and allowed to rust and gather a coating of axle grease. Decal set designed and created at Protocraft Decals ![]() Background color shown above is not included in decal sheet |
