Previous Return to list of all 40’ and 50’ autocars Next lettering for the Burlington’s 50’ autocars with end doors
![]() In August of 1941, CB&Q’s Havelock, Nebraska shops built 100, 50’ double-door automobile cars with end doors. Series was 48500-48599, CB&Q Class XA-15B Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted with the Burlington’s standard mineral or freight car red: TCP-86 Lettering all white lead stencil paste. Hearlds came with a black background, but this was short lived as about this time the black background was dropped, and heralds were just white stencil paste with the car’s color showing through instead. Use of either would be correct and both options are included in this decal set. Reporting marks on the A end (door end) had 3” stenciling applied, whereas the B end used 4” stenciled reporting marks. Decal set designed and created at Protocraft Decals ![]() ![]() Background color shown above is not included in decal sheet |
