![]()
In 1948, the Seaboard received 500 40’ autocars with 14’ door openings from Pressed Steel Car Company and assigned as Series 23000-
23499. The cars were seen with the Route of Courteous Service as the delivery scheme, and the Route of the Silver Meteor as a repaint slogan
in the early 1960’s. (see Protocraft Decal SAL-7b)
Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted with Dupont SAL standard freight car color: TCP-923. Be sure and mix a few drops of TCP-179 grey to
replicate normal oxidation.
All had the large 56” monogram with the red heart and Route of Courteous Service on both sides, with the 1946 monogram with
RAILROAD replacing “RAILWAY”.
Decal sheet designed and sized at Protocraft Decals. Artwork and lettering by Ted Culotta.
