lettering for EJ&E’s 53’-6” AAR flatcars

The EJ&E received 400 at cars of the 50-Ton AAR 53’-6” design with 15 side stake pockets as follows:

 

Series 6375-6574, 200 cars, Ralston Steel Car Company, delivered May 1942

Series 6575-6774, 200 cars, American Car & Foundry, Lot 2969, delivered August 1947

 

Paint & Lettering: Car painted with USS Supply Co. Black on sides, ends, underframe and trucks. This was dark charcoal gray. Stencils were

white stencil paste.
