lettering set for 50-ton 53’-6” AAR design flatcars - 1941 scheme

In August 1941, the MONON received 60, 50-ton flat cars of the 53’-6” AAR design under the War Production Board directive restricting the use of steel, as War Emergency Flat Cars, using 4x4 fir stringers. Cars were built by Pullman-Standard Car Company under Lot 5668A, and assigned road numbers as Series 7000-7059.
