ATSF Fe-S autocar - Series 65701-66200

To accommodate the growing automobile delivery needs, the basic Bx-9 ARA underframe used on all Bx cars was extended by 10 feet making a 50’ autocar.  Equipped with a Chicago-Cleveland Radial roof, reverse Dreadnaught ends with square corners, T&G wood sides over a steel frame with a horizontal steel retention band set at about 1/3 up the side.  Cars rode on Dalman 2-level 50-ton trucks.
