Seaboard Air Line autocar - Series 10000-10199

Unique for it’s day in the use of it’s construction components, the SAL ordered 200, 50’ automobile/furniture cars from Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company’s Bessemer, Alabama shops equipped with Pullman’s patented components.  Delivered in February of 1938, the car came with a Pullman Patented flat panel riveted roof, and Pullman Patented flat panel riveted ends with square corner construction design, 4/6 single-riveted panel sides with a 10’-0” inside height, AB brakes, Universal Power hand brake assembly and wood running boards.  Cars road on Bettendorf design 50-ton trucks.
