50’ automobile cars w/end doors for the CB&Q

In August of 1941, the Burlington’s Havelock shops built 100, 50’ automobile cars with end doors as Class XA-15B.  Series was 48500-48599.  Construction consisted of Murphy Raised panel roof, 4/7 double-riveted sides for 10’-6” inside height, 5/5 Dreadnaught B end with round (W) corner construction and end doors on the A end.  Universal Power hand brake and Morton running boards.  Cars rode on National B-1 50-ton trucks.
