![]() Build primarily for newsprint service, cars featured double-doors centered on each side to better accommodate forklift loading of large rolls of newsprint. Built in September of 1940 by the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company’s Michigan City plant under Lot 5708. Assigned road numbers were Series 52000-52199. Construction consisted of the Murphy Raised panel roof, Pullman Patented Corregated ends with square corners, and 5/5 riveted sides for a 10’-5” inside height. Klasing Power hand brake and wood running boards. Unique were the 7-panel Creco double doors. Cars rode on a PRR design 2D-F-12 50-ton trucks.
