C&O autocar - Series 6700-6789

Built by Mt Vernon Car Manufacturing Company as Job 7964.  Assigned road numbers as Series 6700-67689 and delivered in August of 1934 as the C & O’s first all-steel, 50’ automobile/Furniture cars.  Car were equipped with Viking roof, 4/5 square corner Dreaednaught ends, 4/6 panel double riveted sides, 10’-0” inside height, Equipco power hand brake and wood running boards.  Cars could be found in revenue service through the 1950’s.  Bettendorf design 50-ton trucks.
