Nickel Plate Road autocar - Series 87100-87199 -

Delivered in July 1942, this series of cars, 87100-87199, ordered by the Nickel Plate, employed some improved components: primarily the newer stronger round (W) corner design and 5/5 Dreadnaught ends.  Build by the Ralston Steel Car Company, employing a Viking roof and the new Youngstown double-doors. Ajax Powered Hand Brake, AB brake system and Apex Tri-Lok running boards.  Cars rode on Bettendorf design 5’-6” w.b. 50-ton trucks.
