lettering for Texas & Pacific’s 1937 AAR boxcars - 1950’s repaint scheme

The Texas & Pacic Railway received 1,000 1937 AAR design 10’-0” IH boxcars as follows:
 

Series 40000-40499, 500 cars, Mt Vernon Car Co, 5-P Creco 6’ doors, received December 1937

Series 40500-40999, 500 cars, Mt Vernon Car Co, 5-P Creco 6’ doors 6’ doors, received July 1940
 

In the early 1950’s these cars were retted with 5-panel Creco doors, repainted and relettered with new calendar style sans-serif lettering in white stencil

paste, and intorduced the new diamond medallion. Note the unique positioning and bracket of the air reservoir.
